24/7 Emergency Care
The Emergency Department at Girard Medical Center is staffed around the clock by physicians and advanced practice providers who are dedicated to delivering timely, high-quality emergency care. When walk-in patients arrive, they are immediately evaluated by a nurse who assesses their condition and helps ensure they receive the appropriate level of care as quickly as possible. Our team is trained to respond to both routine and critical emergencies with professionalism, urgency, and compassion.

Our Emergency Room features private examination and treatment rooms designed to meet a variety of patient needs, including:

Level IV Trauma Center
Girard Medical Center is proud to be designated as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). This designation reflects our commitment to providing high-quality emergency and trauma care for our community. As part of the Kansas Trauma System, our Emergency Department is equipped to:
- Rapidly assess and stabilize injured patients
- Provide emergency treatment and life-saving interventions
- Coordinate transfers when higher levels of trauma care are needed
- Deliver ongoing emergency care close to home whenever possible
Every three years, trauma centers must meet rigorous standards established through the Kansas Trauma Program and supported by the American College of Surgeons to maintain designation.
