Peter Bates, APRN, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients throughout southeast Kansas. He has been part of the Girard Medical Center team for more than 12 years, including the past three years serving full-time in the Emergency Department.

Originally from Galena, Kansas, Peter understands the unique healthcare needs of rural communities and is committed to ensuring patients receive timely, personalized care close to home. He treats patients of all ages with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies, working closely with the Emergency Department team to deliver efficient, evidence-based care.

Peter values the relationships he builds with patients and takes pride in caring for the community he calls home. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
